Coach Melanie is our resident Pilates instructor at enduraLAB. She is a graduate from TCU with a rich background in ballet. Following an injury, Melanie found herself seeking a new path when she came upon the STOTT PILATES® method. She excelled in the program and has brought her experience to the LAB.

Hometown. I am from Chicago, Illinois.

Degree. I have a degree in ballet from TCU. When I blew out my knee after graduation, I had to figure out a new path. I found myself researching Pilates and came across the STOTT PILATES ® method. I aligned with their principles and signed up for an intro course in Chicago. To my (pleasant) surprise, the trainer said I was gifted and asked me to be her apprentice for the remaining portion of my training program. I was in Chicago for about six years before moving back to Fort Worth to open Panther City Pilates in 2006.

Certifications. STOTT PILATES ® Matwork & Reformer, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels. Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates Instructor.

Favorite charity / volunteer organization. I love animals. I’m happy to give my time and attention to organizations that benefit animal welfare.

What is your most current binge? I love Podcasts! My favorites are Stuff You Should Know and My Favorite Murder

Inspiration. My kids inspire me. They are so innocent and see the world in such a beautiful way. It’s a refreshing perspective on the world.

How do you keep clients motivated? Motivation comes when clients are free from their pain. When clients come in with lower back pain, for example, and they know they can do a Pilates workout and not get injured, that’s all the motivation they need to keep going.

Favorite workout? Swimming laps.

Best restaurant in Fort Worth? Café Bella.

Favorite workout song? Anything by AC/DC.

What are two things on your bucket list? Travel more. I would love to go to Ireland. I’m also trying to live in the moment.

What else would you like for us to know about you? I love making people feel better. I have a very high EIQ and am incredibly body aware, even when it comes to other people. I can almost feel another person’s pain and I want to do what I can to help them heal. Oh, fun fact, I am skilled at the recurve bow! Please always feel like you can reach out to me with any questions about my program.
