Meet Christian Pimmler, January Member of the Month

Meet Christian Pimmler, the Purdue graduate and fitness enthusiast who found his discipline and stress relief at enduraLAB. Discover how he went from occasional workouts to consistent exercise, increased mobility, and even broke a personal record. Plus, find out the unique workout he created in honor of his journey and his favorite treat meal in D/FW.

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I found Enduralab through a mutual friend from my church, Christ Chapel. I had just graduated from Purdue, Boiler Up!, and moved to a new city and wanted to start off post-college life with a disciplined routine, including consistent exercise. One main motivation for me to work out is how it relieves stress and improves mental health. It is an outlet for you to be able to blow off some steam during a busy work week!

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?

Before Enduralab, I would work out from time to time, and also played intramural sports in college, but how much I worked out was dependent on what my schedule looked like for school. I also was very involved with leading Young Life too which took up most of my free time in college.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?

Since I started coming in August 2022, I have been much better about making exercise a consistent part of my life, I try to come at least 4 times a week and am much more active overall.

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB.

Well for starters, you may find me regretting going on a run around the block instead of biking inside during a workout haha but anyway outside of the LAB, you can either find me sitting in front of a Roni One pizza at Cane Rosso, supporting my Purdue Boilermakers, shooting on my camera around the city, playing pickleball, biking on the Trinity Trail, or spending time with good friends.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.

Since I have joined the LAB, I have been able to increase my mobility more than ever before, increase my physical strength, and improve my endurance. Also, last month I finally broke 300lbs doing back squat, something I never would have been able to achieve without the intentional programming at Enduralab.

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? What is your favorite enduraLAB

event or program?

The next 6 months, I would love to gain even more strength so I can get a higher PR for back-squat, hopefully ending the year with over 400lbs. I also want to get a sub 7 minute mile, and to be able to finally do double-unders!

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?

My first piece of advice when starting is to not be intimidated to try new things. It’s very easy to look around the gym at others and think how could you ever get there, but remember, in any fitness journey, no matter the goal, you always need to start somewhere. Knowing your limits but challenging yourself will allow you to accomplish things you never even imagined you could do.

If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?

To provide a little back story, I injured my wrist last May going WAY too heavy on power cleans, so since then I have been enjoying doing more lower body and core exercises.

This is what I call the “Do It With No Hands”

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 (whatever this order is)

10 Backsquat (185lb/135lb)

10 Boxjumps (24”/20”)

10 Sit-ups

10 air-quats

(at the end of each round, sprint 100 m)

Favorite treat meal/restaurant in D/FW?

Anything on the menu at Café Bella.

I am so happy to have found Enduralab! The community is great, and the workouts are tough, but at the end of the day, I am better for it!
