After being a competitive swimmer in high school, Elizabeth fell into the habit of working and doing little else for her fitness. Some Pilates and light exercise- but nothing too strenuous. Later, while having a job which took her all over the world, she was watching people in Hamburg ride their bikes to work. When Elizabeth returned home, she immediately purchased her first bike. After some fits and starts it turned into a life of endurance events and she has never looked back.
As a kid, Elizabeth says never excelled at team sports, always the last chosen or put in left centerfield where she could not do too much damage. When she found swimming, she knew it was something she could do well with, but after college life just got in the way. As Elizabeth got older, she was not willing to accept becoming an out of shape middle aged woman and decided to do something about it. She knows that she has more energy and strength now than she did in my younger years. She loves the feeling of being able to complete some tough events- and she’s just getting stronger!
Elizabeth loves watching athletes meet or exceed realistic goals they set for themselves! She especially loves when athletes overcome their own self doubt and go on to accomplish amazing things.
