Recipe: Post Workout Hydration Drink

It’s super important to hydrate in general, but specifically after a heavy sweat session. This drink, originally created by Shalane Flanagan is called the “warrior drink.” It is a refreshing drink that provides potassium, antioxidants, electrolytes and omega-3 fatty acids. Note that the chia seeds will expand giving it a boba tea feeling. If this isn’t you thing, feel free to omit chia seeds from the recipe.

Ingredients:
1 cup of coconut water

½ cup of tart cherry juice

½ cup of filtered water

Juice of 1 lime

2 tbs of chia

⅛ tsp of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large blender bottle. Seal lid and shake to combine.
  2. Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes to allow chia seeds to gel. For best results, chill overnight. Shake before drinking.
