Our female Member of the Month for May is Ambar Sandoval. Her goals are to work on her body composition and learn to live a healthy lifestyle through our 12-month Nutrition Program. Ambar's advice to anyone considering the LAB is to show up knowing that the workout will be challenging, but the results are worth it!

What brought you into enduraLAB? My co-worker and enduraLAB coach Mark couldn’t say enough great things about enduraLAB.

What was your first impression? How has that changed? I was and am still impressed with the workouts. My family and friends have noticed a difference in my body.

What are your current goals at the LAB? My goal is to lower my BMI to 25 and live a healthy lifestyle.

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory? My favorite memory was a power clean to 200 meter run progression. When I got back from the run Connor had switched out my 15-pound bar to the standard 35-pound bar.

What advice do you have for anyone thinking about starting at enduraLAB? It’s the best decision ever! I show up to enduraLAB knowing that the workout will be difficult, but the results are worth it.

What is your favorite movement/lift? Least favorite? My favorite are upper body movements such as pull ups. My least favorite is the Concept2 Indoor Row Erg.

What made you join the nutrition program? What was your 'aha' moment? I joined the nutrition class because I needed help with my eating habits. The ‘aha’ moment was learning to read the labels and meal prep.

What do you do for a living? I teach U.S. History to 8th grade students.

Favorite Class at the LAB? Strength+Conditioning Class

Our male May Member of the Month is Fred Closuit who came to enduraLAB from CrossFit. He says the LAB offers more structure with programming that focuses on form and a comprehensive warm up rather than pushing speed or volume. He also appreciates that the LAB's coaches are committed to every single member. He recalls how at home he felt from the very beginning. Fred's fitness goals are to run a sub 22-minute 5K, and continue to increase strength. His advice is that if you want a well-structured and challenging work out program along with great community and no intimidation, quit thinking and come on. You will love it.

What were you doing before enduraLAB? CrossFit

How is it different from the gym? CrossFit is more competitive and less structured. enduraLAB coaches focus on form and a comprehensive warm up rather than speed or volume.

What brought you to enduraLAB in the first place? It was foggy, I was lost.

What was your first impression? The LAB is very organized, and the coaches are totally committed to every single member. From the first workout, they made me feel at home and cheered me on to complete each phase of the workout. I could not wait to come back.

How has that changed? I am still totally impressed by the organization and coaching however, now I also enjoy the awesome friendly LAB community!

What was your first breakthrough moment? Not sure I have a breakthrough moment…since I started 6 months ago I have seen a steady increase in strength and at my age, and that is a breakthrough. Pull ups, kettlebell swings, squats, deadlift, box jump…everything has improved.

What are your current goals at the LAB? Sub 22-minute 5K. Continue to increase strength.

What’s your favorite enduraLAB memory? Watching the Beer Mile during the enduraLAB Beer Olympics event at Martin House Brewing Co.

What advice do you have for anyone thinking about starting at enduraLAB?  If you want a well-structured and challenging work out program along with great community and no intimidation, quit thinking and come on. You will love it.

What is your favorite movement/lift? Least favorite? I think my favorite movement is no movement, aka “undefined rest”, but if that doesn’t count, probably squats. Least favorite is the ski erg, uhg!!

Favorite Restaurant in Fort Worth? Righteous Foods and Local Foods Kitchen, can’t decide.

Favorite Netflix Binge? Recently Godless, couldn’t stop.
