What brought you to enduraLAB? Our friends Kyle and Brynn. Phill and I were getting married in October 2018, and I wanted to look my best for the big day. We did a bit of traveling after our wedding, but became members that following January.

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB? Soccer and baptiste yoga, which are both great cardio workouts, but I joined EnduraLAB to give variety to my workouts.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB? Consistency in my workouts. I’ve always enjoyed coming to class, so EnduraLAB has kept me in the gym 5-6 days a week and in turn, made me a better athlete.

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? Well, I have a 9-week-old baby, so life is mostly based around her right now. I’m also an attorney with my own firm practicing criminal defense here in Fort Worth. Aside from that, and when there isn’t a global pandemic, Phill and I love to travel internationally. I still love playing soccer, and am glad to be back on the pitch since being pregnant and having Iliana.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little. I’ve become more versatile. I’ve always had decent mobility and flexibility along with a high cardio work capacity. But I had never done weightlifting or barbell work prior to EnduraLAB. Factoring in strength training and heavy lifting has helped make me a better, stronger athlete.

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? Well, I’d love to lose the remaining ~8lbs I gained from pregnancy and build my strength/endurance back. But I think a more important goal is to continue reminding myself to be kind to my body for all I put it through and what it’s done (and will continue to do) for me. Easier said than done, especially in a gym full of strong, fit athletes.

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program? I’ve always enjoyed Saturday morning workouts. Maybe it’s because it’s the weekend, but I love the energy and partner workouts are my favorite.

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Be honest with your workout and don’t cheat on SugarWOD to feel comparable to or better than other athletes. Seriously, just don’t do it....

Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Since I couldn’t eat it for most of 2020, I’m currently obsessed with sushi, including the ahi tuna poke bowl from Righteous Foods. As far as junk food—chips and queso are always a yes for me.
