Scott wanted a fitness program with a little more structure and progression. Lucky for us, word of mouth brought him in and he is feeling in the best shape of his life. He loved the LAB so much, he brought in his wife and now fellow "LAB Rat," Caroline. Together they regularly attend class and our fun community events like Night of the Living Deadlift.
What brought you to enduraLAB?
Fred Closuit’s son John recommended I try it. I called and was connected to Lee. been best buds ever since...
What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?
I was all over the map.. I was doing yoga regularly, free weights and distance running.
What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?
I’m definitely more conscious of what I’m eating. I’ve found out the easiest way to see body results is actually paying attention to nutrition and staying physically active. I'm also getting better at setting goals for myself.
Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?
I am married to fellow Lab Rat, Caroline McClure. I sell material handling equipment and am a consultant for warehouse storage solutions. I spend a lot of time at my family ranch working with cattle. I also enjoy hunting and fishing.
How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.
I feel I’m in the best shape of my life. Never have I kept track of my strength progression, so I'm at a different strength level than ever before. I finally got over 300lbs on my deadlift last year, pretty proud of that!
What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?
I want to be able to do 10 consecutive strict pull up's. Maybe more…
What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?
Night of the living deadlift might be my favorite.
What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?
Start slow. Don't feel like you need to do RX. Pace yourself. Don't be shy, everyone I have met at the lab is super friendly and helpful. I'm a bit of an introvert so I need to be better at this.
Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW?
I have so many... Melt Ice Cream, Joe T’s, Panther City BBQ, Nonna Tada and any hamburger.
I’m currently reading the memoirs of Stockholm Sven.
Pump up song?
Not a big pump up song guy. My wife usually puts on Lil Wayne before workouts.
