Meet Michelle Moon, December Member of the Month

Meet Michelle Moon: a resilient force at enduraLAB, rediscovering her love for running and healthy living. From a two-year fitness hiatus to conquering races, Michelle shares her journey, emphasizing the gym's unique focus on endurance. Beyond workouts, she's a dedicated Hiley Auto Group veteran, family enthusiast, and proud pet parent. Join us for a glimpse into Michelle's inspiring fitness evolution, her goals, and the empowering playlist that fuels her workouts. This is more than a fitness story; it's a celebration of strength and self-love within enduraLAB's supportive community.

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I was wanting to get back to my ways of living a healthier life and having accountability. Plus, I missed running and even though we have a love hate relationship. I’m happy this gym has the resources to get me back out there. Not all gyms focus on endurance but more strength.

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?

I used to be 6 days a week workout fanatic and doing two a days with the gym in the morning and beachbody at home in the evenings. Life got me and it went to nothing for almost two years until Matthew reminded me of who I used to be and how happy I was and brought me to enduraLAB.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?

I’ve learned how to recover properly and it’s ok to take recovery. And that my body doesn’t move like it used to. Baby steps and small goals are the big goals and love them just as much as the big goals. You don’t put your best friend down so why put yourself down.

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?

Outside, I work for Hiley. I have been with Hiley Auto Group for 17 years and you can say they are my second family. Outside of that, you can find me with my family. I love spending time with my nephews and nieces. And my fur kids, Chole and Brinkley!

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB?

Brag a little. Went I first started I couldn’t even run .5 miles because what I thought of a knee injury. After meeting Lee and him telling me it was a simple fix with foam rolling and stretching properly, I was able to start running. And Thanks to Elizabeth and Lane with run coaching, this past weekend I did my first race in years… YEARS! And I finished it with tears in my eyes and proud of myself.

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?

My goal in the next 6 months is to be stronger and shoot for a half marathon again. My first time ever I had poor training and my body collapsed at mile 9.

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?

So far I’ve only ever done Summer Shred but I’m looking forward to Holiday Hustle.

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?

Have fun, this place will motivate you and support you in ways you never thought. Don’t be scared they are here for all of us.

If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?

LOL, please make adjustments if need be. I’m not good with workout ideas.

So you start with one, then you do one two, then you do one two three then one two three four, and keep gradually keep adding on. It’s a love hate workout.
