What brought you to enduraLAB? The gym had a great reputation and a lot of fun people that I already knew were part of the community.

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB? I was following a workout book but was having a hard time staying consistent and was not challenging myself enough.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB? I've really changed my whole attitude about working out and have embraced all of the ways it helps me relieve stress, feel better, and connect with other members.  I have also upped my number of days I come to the gym which I have never done before!

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB? I love to spend time with my family, cook, and hang out at our weekend place out in the country.  In between all of that, I am the sales leader and broker for Williams Trew Real Estate.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little. When I joined I was definitely suffering from "I'm too old to do all of this syndrome."  My mobility was really poor and I was starting to feel like I couldn't do tough workouts any more.  Well, after over 2 years at the LAB, my mobility is better than it has been since before I had kids 20+ years ago, if you can believe that.  The workouts are challenging but attainable and I can definitely do those elusive box jumps that I thought were permanently off the table!

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? I'm really focusing on challenging myself more in workouts to get stronger and closer to the prescribed weights.

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program? Before the pandemic I used to love the Buds and Suds workouts on Saturdays.  I'm hoping they will come back once the pandemic is in our rearview mirror.  Who knew a beer could taste so good after a workout!

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? I would say to dive right in and know that the coaches are there to support and teach you the correct techniques.  Weightlifting can be intimidating if you have not ever done it before but the coaches are excellent at teaching you the correct and safe way to do it so you can see real results and have fun at the same time.

Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Joe T's family dinner with a margarita!

Current read / podcast? The Go Giver by Bobby Burg and John David Mann

Pump up song? Anything on Isis' playlist!

Any final words or thoughts? I really love the SugarWOD app the LAB is now using.  It is fun to see what workouts are coming up, keep up with gym news, give fistbumps to other members and most importantly, track my progress.  I hope this app is here to stay!
