Meet Courtney Lazar, April Member of the Month

Courtney is a dedicated TCU Horned Frog that is accomplishing physical feats she didn't think were possible. She credits the confidence and support to the awesome community at enduraLAB! We love seeing her continue to grow and look forward to celebrating goals she will crush in the future. Read more about her below.

What brought you to enduraLAB?

My college friend, Eden!!

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?

Mostly cardio at the Rec at TCU. The weights section is overpopulated and impossible to work out in.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?

Keeping a constant routine of working out each week because I want to and it makes me feel good, not because I have to.

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?

Outside of enduraLAB, I love to go on walks around campus with friends. Also, Eden and I finished 75 Hard the other month which was something I never thought I could've done until joining and meeting such a great support system.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.

I have pushed my cardio and weight training ability more than ever before. Shoutout Coach Blake for always making me go heavier and surprising myself by what I am capable of.

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?

I am training for a half marathon!! I am NOT a runner so I keep surprising myself with all my miles I accomplish on my Saturday long runs.

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?

Although I didn't participate in it this year, I am really looking forward to Night of the Living Deadlift next year.

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?

Walking through the doors is the hardest step. Once you go through the doors, you are immediately greeted by the nicest staff and every single person you are working out with will make a point to introduce themselves and remember your face and name the next time you come back. Community is something that makes getting to the gym so much easier and EnduraLAB has the best, most supportive community ever.

If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?

Wow, honestly I have no idea haha but there would probably be back squats and Blake would definitely have to participate in the cardio with us.

Favorite treat meal/restaurant in D/FW?

I love Cane Rosso!

Current read / podcast?

When I have time outside of homework I like to read mainly fiction, I am about to start All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr!

Pump up song?

It changes daily but right now Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas have been getting me through my runs.
