Meet Cailtin Stephenson, November Member of the Month

Caitlin is our real life "She Hulk." She is strength, smarts and FUN! She came to enduraLAB for a challenge and that's what she got! Since joining she has hit incredible PR's and has improved her overall health. Read more about her below.

What brought you to enduraLAB?

I was looking for a new gym to join when my friend, Hudson Lorfing, encouraged me to try out EnduraLAB. I loved the encouraging and competitive atmosphere, and the challenging workouts!

What did your workout routine look like before joining the LAB?

I was going to another crossfit-esque gym, but I was inconsistent. When I would go, I was cherry picking the workouts that I wanted to do and knew I would be good at instead of challenging myself.

What healthy changes have you made since joining the LAB?

I am way more consistent in attending classes and I prioritize my holistic health! I have learned that making it to the gym is important, but being thoughtful about what I eat, how much I sleep, stress levels, etc., also impact my overall health. Since joining, I have began to be more mindful of all of these things and work to improve my habits to be holistically healthy!

Tell us what you do outside of the LAB?

By day I am an accountant, but by night I am a dog mom, a community group leader at my church, a reality TV and sports junkie, and "professional" wedding guest/ dance floor enthusiast. I also am going to help coach the girls basketball team at Stripling Middle School when the season starts up!

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? Brag a little.

My body is in the best shape it has ever been in! I feel stronger and healthier than ever before. I have hit some PRs that I would have never dreamed of before joining the LAB. I hit a 355 pound deadlift at the Night of the Living Deadlift, and I am doing my previous PRs for multiple reps for squats, cleans, front squats, and bench! I also can do full push ups now, which was one of my goals when joining the LAB!

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months?

To finally conquer double unders

What is your favorite enduraLAB event or program?

Night of the Living Deadlift!!! I also have been loving Friday Night Lights and hanging out with everyone after!

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB?

Be patient and persistent. Be in competition with yourself. Push yourself to go a little heavier, a little faster, a little harder every workout and you will be shocked with how much you have grown! It requires time and dedication, but it is worth it!

If we had a workout in honor of you, what would it be called and what would it consist of?

It would be called "She Hulk" or "noodle legz" and it would consist of deadlifts, back squats, rowing, slam balls, sit ups, and ski erg.

Favorite treat meal/restaurant in D/FW?

Coco Shrimp or any mexican food + a marg :)

Current read / podcast?

Podcast: Thirty Minutes with The Perrys or The Toast!

Drop it Low by Ester Dean and Girls in the Hood by Megan Thee Stallion

Any final words or thoughts?

Don't forget fitness is fun and it is a privilege to get to move our bodies and be active. I have had 2 knee surgeries, and there have been periods of time where I couldn't walk or stand by myself. I didn't have the choice to be active and I missed it deeply. "Surgery Caitlin" dreamed of getting to go to a cool gym with awesome people and getting to workout together. Don't take it for granted, make the most of the opportunity you have while you can!
