What brought you into enduraLAB in the first place? I was unhappy and unhealthy. I had recently lost my mom to cancer and was the heaviest I had ever been in my life. I knew I needed to get serious about my health, but I had no idea where to start. I had tried everything from boxing to hot yoga, but always ended up bored and unmotivated after a few short months. I met Lee in October 2015, at the referral of a friend and haven’t looked back (or been bored) since!

What healthy changes have you made since starting enduraLAB? I like to say I’ve “refined” my eating habits. I still indulge in sweets and fast food, but not as often. I’ve learned to make better decisions when it comes to “fueling my body”. I truly enjoy working out and try to commit to 3-4 days a week. Whenever I “fall off” I use the tools Coach Lee and the LAB have taught me to get myself back on track.

How have you grown as an athlete since joining the LAB? I’m a lot kinder to myself. Knowing how capable my body is, makes it easier to forgive my shortcomings. Maybe I ate an entire box of Thin Mints last night, but I can still deadlift 2x my bodyweight – balance.

What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next 6 months? The next year? I’m trying to get back in the routine of working out consistently before work. I am in no way shape or form a morning person, but I love how I feel when I start my days with a workout.

What advice would you have for a new person starting at enduraLAB? Ask for help! I didn’t know what a front squat was when I started. Four years later I still ask the coaches questions, and have them demonstrate movements when necessary. They are all so knowledgeable and patient – take advantage of their talents and get the most out of each workout.

Favorite cheat meal/restaurant in D/FW? Pizza and pasta are my go-to comfort foods! There is a hole in the wall BYOB Italian restaurant walking distance from our house called Prima’s. It’s the closest to authentic Italian I’ve found since moving to Texas and the portions are huge.

Where did you go to college? I graduated with my Bachelors from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2009, then completed my MBA at Texas Wesleyan University in 2014.
